Elegant and classic, or casual, with all of their details and possible customised touches, shirts can tell us a lot about their wearers and also about the spirit of the times.
In over 60 years in the business, Xacus Camicie has been able to interpret the development of a timeless item of clothing, becoming one of the most representative brands in Italian shirt making. From San Vito di Leguzzano, in the province of Vicenza, where Alberto Xoccato founded it as an artisan concern in 1956, Xacus has continued to grow and grow as a business. And this great adventure has continued with a common theme, passion – for quality, research and innovation.
In the 1970s the small artisan workshop became a technical and industrial concern, turning Xacus into a North-East Italian fashion business. In the 1980s, the founder’s sons, Giorgio and Paolo joined the company, which continued to grow to cover the whole Italian market and to begin its international expansion, from North America to the most important world markets. The 1990s saw the reorganisation of production and logistics, as well as the opening of 50 shop-in-shop corners in Italy and the rest of the world. The new millennium marked the start of production agreements with some of the most important names in Made in Italy shirts and the launch of new projects: the Xacus Donna line for women, and e-commerce.
While remaining faithful to its sartorial traditions, the company has also been able to make the most of its own distinguishing features: elegant style and excellence when it comes to refined designs and materials, painstaking attention to detail, and careful workmanship. As Paolo Xoccato, CEO of Xacus points out, Xacus covers the many-faceted world of Italian shirts in all of its collections. Black Label is the maximum expression of research in terms of fit and quality workmanship and it is made in collaboration with some of the world’s best fabric manufacturers; White Label, in line with the more exclusive trends on the marketplace; Beluga Washed, with its unmistakable vintage shirts; Classic Wash, with its soft, deconstructed lines; Travel Shirt, the perfect item for urban travellers with its wrinkle free fabric, and Evening, refined elegance for gala occasions. And through to the elegant women’s collection, where lifestyle and creativity are combined in a unique style.
Xacus Camicie has learned to satisfy demand in Italy with its closer fits, in America with its more comfy models, and in Japan, with its garment-washed shirts. This is why a feather in the company’s cap is My Concept, a means of customising both men’s and women’s shirts: a kit with 12 types of collar and over 150 different fabrics in terms of design and colour, with the possibility to customise each shirt with cuffs, embroidered initials and Australian mother-of-pear buttons engraved with name and surname. All with a turnaround time of two weeks from acceptance of the order.
